The Palga Foundation has established an independent Complaints Board for processing complaints. The Board’s task is to adjudicate on complaints filed by patients, whistleblowers, pathologists or any other stakeholders regarding alleged infringements of an individual’s personal privacy involving Palga’s database or any related work.

Palga’s systems are designed to safeguard the privacy of patients, specialists and labs.

  • The use of data is subject to comprehensive regulations. There are regulations for the use of data by pathologists (PZVDB privacy regulations) and by researchers (PIDB privacy regulations).
  • All identifying personal data used in studies is pseudonymised and cannot be traced to individuals.  
  • Palga holds two certificates: ISO 27001 and NEN 7510.

Palga has been compliant with the GDPR since it entered into effect on 25 May 2018.
